DOVAMAN LD40A 40V Max Brushless 16" Cordless Lawn Mower
This mower has really surprised us. I'm going to start by saying the reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is due to the amount of plastic being a bit excessive. It has a cheap feel to it, and it makes me question its long term durability. Had I paid for this, I might be a little disappointed in that aspect.Having said that, this thing is a beast! It's 16" wide, super light and maneuverable, easy to fold, comes with a bagger, charger and battery, and it mulches fairly tall grass and leaves with ease. We use this in a smaller fenced in back yard where our larger riding mower just doesn't make sense to use. It will be very handy when the leaves begin falling at a very fast rate. Will be nice to grab this and quickly chop up everything each day, as they pile up quickly! Not sure about blade availability, but that could also be a concern. Battery life is very good. We are certainly impressed by it's performance, especially given the initial thoughts while unboxing.
Unboxing the mower made me think this was a little plastic mower that would not perform. I was wrong. This mower is lightweight and most of it is plastic but it is perfect for the ladies. Lightweight yes but that makes it much easier to mow. Easy to use, just pull the safety bar back and push the start button. I did have some problems with locking down the levers that hold the handle in place but other than that the mower was easy to assemble. There is a mulch plug inside that can be removed if that is your preference. The battery is rated at 36 watts which is plenty for small yards. It takes about 2 and half hours to charge the battery. Not sure if there is the ability to buy a second battery, it's always nice to have 2. The height adjustment is easy, there is only one and it lifts the whole mower up or down. The height adjustment is nice because it is one lever instead of one on each wheel. The back wheels are about 7 ½ inches which is large enough to roll over rough ground. I'm not sure about purchasing a replacement blade, I checked the information and the listing but I don't know about availability for this mower. Overall this mower is a nice option over other powered mowers just because of its ease of use and definitely like this one.
I'm pretty familiar with various cordless lawn mowers. It seems a decent value for the price, it's easy to use, and it matches the product description. It's a good quality cordless lawn mower, and it's really lightweight, which is nice. We thought it being lightweight might impact it's durability and functionality, but after eight months, it's still working without any issues. The battery life doesn't last long, about 30 minutes. It wouldn't be so bad if we could find additional batteries for it, but they seem impossible to find.
I have found the Dovaman LD40A battery powered mower to be impressive and a practical upgrade from my older electric Dovaman LA16M mower - and the best part is no power cords to manage!Assembly took less than 10 minutes out of the box, and after a quick two-hour battery charge, was mowing my small front yard and curbside strip with ease. The 40V 4Ah brushless motor delivered consistent power with low noise and minimal vibration, and the 16-inch cutting width was perfect for maneuvering around garden edges and narrow spaces. One of my favorite features is the single-lever height adjustment, which makes changing cutting height a breeze, and the 3-step foldable handle with upright storage makes it ideal for compact garages. The mower ran for a full 70 minutes on one charge — more than enough for smaller lawns — and switching between mulching and bagging was quick and simple. While my only concerns is about the availability of replacement blades and additional battery packs, the overall build, convenience, and performance make this mower a solid, eco-friendly choice for homeowners who want cordless freedom, reliable cutting power, and easy storage. The Dovaman brand has proven to be a reliable company and I have strong expectations for this availability/replacements to get resolved for future purchases. Overall, for most small yards, it’s an outstanding value in the sub-$300 range and a very welcome upgrade to my gardenings tools and equipment!
This is a thoughtfully designed and very well made electric lawn mower. There are many conveniences and unique features.Instead of the typical height adjustment of four levers on each of the wheels this has a center height adjuster and all the wheels go up or down at the same time. You can use a bagger to collect the grass clippings or insert a plastic plug that turns it into a mulching mower. I actually tried it on grass that was about 10 in tall and very dense and while I had to slow down my pace a little bit, it handled that quite well including the mulching function. There is a window through which you can see when the bag is filled. It's not a fancy thing it's just a plastic window but it is an example of what I said about a very thoughtfully designed machine. Being able to monitor how full that bag is using a passive system like a window translates into simplicity in design that makes for more reliable long-term operation. This machine is significantly lighter in weight than gas powered mowers. I use a gas-powered mower that is self-driven but it is still markedly heavier even with its drive system than pushing this lightweight machine around without a drive system. It's especially appreciated on hills because pushing a heavy mower up a hill is a difficult task but this one is so light it's just feels like you're walking up the hill by yourself.I had some questions in the beginning and I contacted customer support via email and received prompt, courteous replies that addressed my questions completely. The fact that the customer service person reached out to me for three exchanges of answers was impressive. It indicates a company that takes its products and customers seriously. After the third exchange I had increased confidence in this company.Stowing this machine is super convenient because it can be stored vertically and the handle can be folded down for storing in a small space. The light weight makes it far easier to manipulate in a shed or garage then a conventional gasoline engine. For example, there is a handle on the top center of the machine you can use to lift this thing right off the ground. That's not so easy to do with a gasoline engine.I cannot attest to the longevity the battery system yet because I have not used it long enough but I am impressed. The battery is large so I have to assume that there are groups of cells in parallel inside to provide more energy for longer runtime. In addition to the battery there is also a security key which complete the circuit. When you're not using the mower or if you're attending to some cleaning and other functions you remove both the battery and the key for certainty and safety. The only area I can think of that I'd like to see something different is the physical width of the machine. At 16 inches it is 6 inches narrower than my gasoline powered walk-behind mower. That means I have to make more passes back and forth to cut the same amount of grass. I would love to see a machine like this with a 22 inch width or even more. But for now I am very impressed with the machine. I love it and it's made my task mowing my lawn significantly easier, certainly quieter.
