This little mower is perfect for someone who needs a light weight mower, doesn’t have a lot of room for storage, doesn’t want to deal with gas, but still wants a nice cut.

The cut on this mower is nice, if you like or need to bag it also can do that, and I like that it has 6 heights. The performance on this is great and works well just like a gas mower.

If you don’t want to bag, you can mulch. Which is the best for hot weather. I only bag if there is a ton of weeds, which I dont have anymore.

Would I suggest this mower, yes!

This cordless mower works really well overall and gets the job done. Once assembled, it’s straightforward to use, and the battery is easy to insert and remove, which makes swapping or charging simple.

Performance-wise, it cuts well and has enough power for regular mowing. I’ve been using it on the ditch at my house, and it handles that kind of job without any issues. The single-lever height adjustment is convenient, and the foldable handle makes it easier to store when you’re done.

The main drawback is battery life. It doesn’t last super long on a single charge, especially if you’re doing more than a small area. The battery does charge at a decent speed, but if you have a larger yard, you’ll likely want an extra battery or two to get through everything without stopping.

Overall, it’s a solid cordless mower with good performance and convenient features. Great for smaller jobs or sections of a yard — just keep in mind that additional batteries will make a big difference for longer mowing sessions.

I'm pretty familiar with various cordless lawn mowers. It seems a decent value for the price, it's easy to use, and it matches the product description. It's a good quality cordless lawn mower, and it's really lightweight, which is nice. We thought it being lightweight might impact it's durability and functionality, but after eight months, it's still working without any issues. The battery life doesn't last long, about 30 minutes. It wouldn't be so bad if we could find additional batteries for it, but they seem impossible to find.

I have found the Dovaman LD40A battery powered mower to be impressive and a practical upgrade from my older electric Dovaman LA16M mower - and the best part is no power cords to manage!

Assembly took less than 10 minutes out of the box, and after a quick two-hour battery charge, was mowing my small front yard and curbside strip with ease. The 40V 4Ah brushless motor delivered consistent power with low noise and minimal vibration, and the 16-inch cutting width was perfect for maneuvering around garden edges and narrow spaces.

One of my favorite features is the single-lever height adjustment, which makes changing cutting height a breeze, and the 3-step foldable handle with upright storage makes it ideal for compact garages. The mower ran for a full 70 minutes on one charge — more than enough for smaller lawns — and switching between mulching and bagging was quick and simple.

While my only concerns is about the availability of replacement blades and additional battery packs, the overall build, convenience, and performance make this mower a solid, eco-friendly choice for homeowners who want cordless freedom, reliable cutting power, and easy storage.

The Dovaman brand has proven to be a reliable company and I have strong expectations for this availability/replacements to get resolved for future purchases. Overall, for most small yards, it’s an outstanding value in the sub-$300 range and a very welcome upgrade to my gardenings tools and equipment!

Unboxing the mower made me think this was a little plastic mower that would not perform. I was wrong. This mower is lightweight and most of it is plastic but it is perfect for the ladies. Lightweight yes but that makes it much easier to mow. Easy to use, just pull the safety bar back and push the start button. I did have some problems with locking down the levers that hold the handle in place but other than that the mower was easy to assemble. There is a mulch plug inside that can be removed if that is your preference. The battery is rated at 36 watts which is plenty for small yards. It takes about 2 and half hours to charge the battery. Not sure if there is the ability to buy a second battery, it's always nice to have 2. The height adjustment is easy, there is only one and it lifts the whole mower up or down. The height adjustment is nice because it is one lever instead of one on each wheel. The back wheels are about 7 ½ inches which is large enough to roll over rough ground. I'm not sure about purchasing a replacement blade, I checked the information and the listing but I don't know about availability for this mower. Overall this mower is a nice option over other powered mowers just because of its ease of use and definitely like this one.

We are repeat customers of Dovaman, owning a 20V impact driver, 20V cutout tool, electric mower and now this 40V battery mower. All of their products have proven to be upscale good quality tools. We have a very small zoysia lawn (about 1600sf) and this battery mower has no problem having enough power to do an excellent cut. The grass catcher is a nice feature and removes easily. We initially purchased their electric mower and it has performed well, but I quickly realized that dealing with the cord requires more caution and slows the process down. This battery mower cuts equal to every gas powered we have here on our small farm. I found that we were bringing weeds into the Zoysia when we cut with the gas mowers that we use in areas around our outbuildings that we can’t mow with the bushhog. Having a designated mower for the lawn is great. We are very pleased so far, but my only concern is possibly a backup battery which I haven’t been able to find on Amazon or elsewhere.

This review is for the Dovaman 40V Max Brushless Lawn Mower. As someone who has used both the corded and cordless version of this lawn mower, this mower certainly is a step up from the corded version. This mower has nearly an identical feature set to the corded one -- easy height adjustment, similar-sized removable bag, mulching plug, and the same folding handle. I was not able to determine if one was more powerful than the other; both mowers were equally able to cut sections of my back lawn with ease. I'm used to using larger mowers, so this mower felt like it filled up the bag rather quickly, although the bag seems like it is the proper size for this size of mower, so it needs to be emptied a bit more often than larger mowers. The battery charger worked well, and recharged the battery in a couple of hours. The mower is lightweight and was easy to push around, and the full bag was light enough to not be a burden when emptying it.

The only minor problem I see is with all of the plastic components, with even the blade shroud being made of plastic. I am not sure how durable this mower is, or how long it will last, but for light-duty lawn mowing for a small yard, this will work great.

Easy to put together within minutes out the box with 5 simple steps. Easy to use, starting up and adjust cut with ease. Because it’s plastic, the mower is light weight and easy to push, lift and moving around. Battery included on full charge last about an hour. It also comes with a key necessary for starting it, which is a great safety feature. Also has a bag, which is easy to install for catching glass clippings. I love the fact that it’s battery operated and not gas, which makes storage a lot easier. When I used this, the grass was still wet, but I was able to cut with no issues. However, even though I’m pleased with it, for the price, it should come with a backup battery.

I have to be brutally honest when I say that I did not expect much from this mower with it being a battery operated device. I expected it to not have much power and to be a pain to use, but it has surpassed my expectations and has come in handy so much since it arrived. It was very easy to put together, and its so simple to charge the battery and set it in the mower when ready to use. Startup is very fast and the shutoff occurs as soon as you let go of the lever, which makes it a fantastic safety feature. So much so, we have felt comfortable enough to use it to teach our 10yr old how to use. Its so fast to shut down if the handle is released that I have limited concerns. Its also extremely lightweight and can easily be pushed and pulled with one hand if needed. You can also easily choose between using the grass catcher or just letting the grass fall to the ground, by removing the piece pictured in my photos, or keeping it in to stop the bag from filling. Whatever your preferred method. It also only takes seconds to remove the full bag, dump, and return to its place. In my video, we used this to correct lines in between a riding lawnmowers mistakes, and it took less than 3 minutes to fix the whole thing. Fantastic to say the least. It also gets in closer to buildings and pathways than our rider does, and is so much more simple and efficient than having to break out the weedeater to get those areas as well. Like any mower, the taller the grass, the less power it has, but this surprisingly tackles those jobs decently similar to a gas powered one. Obviously battery is slightly weaker, but, I am still very happy with this. This would be perfect for my mother who is getting older and losing strength. Its lightweight and easy push and pull would work fantastic for her to maintain her yard on her own instead of relying on others. Especially smaller yards that do not need riding lawn mower to maintain. Its also not as loud as I expected either. So, several aspects of this turned out way beyond what little hope I had. All around I am very happy with this. The ease of use, the lightweight of it, the simplicity of emptying the bag or even just choosing not to use it, and how fast the power down is if the handle is released. All make this a 5 star in my opinion. Obviously, only time will tell how well it holds up over time, but for now, I would definitely order another one of these as a gift for a family member if they ever needed one. Right now, no one does, but, definitely would make a good one for older family members in my opinion.

Love it so easy to pick up and just place in the car or truck. No gas or oil to deal with. Battery lasts good amount of time.

Great mower. Easy to handle. Battery life is great. Does a great job. Cleans up fast and stores great.

Great lawmower. Easy to assemble and mulches very well. The plastoc wheels makes it very lightweight and easy to clean. The battery charges quickly, and allowed me to cut my entore frint yard on a single charge. Very pleased with my buy.

So it is actually lighter than expected and easier to maneuver than my old gas powered mower that broke.

I haven’t had any trouble adjusting the blade, but I just set it to the lowest setting and left it there after the first run.

Our front lawn is pretty small maybe a 1/4 acre and took me about 30 minutes to mow in a fully battery. I could run it again before needing another charge, but this battery does take forever to charge.

Hit a handful of sticks and some tough weeds that needed to be run over again but over all it was a fairly even finish. I am not a super stickler for lawns so take that as you will.

The biggest down fall is I can’t seem to find a second battery to buy! That would make this whole set up so much better. Doing a battery got swap would be so much easier.

That being said, I like lot having a gas can laying around with old gas in it.

This mower works extremely well. I was tired of trailering my big riding mower just to mow a small yard at my elderly parents place, now I don't have to. This mower takes up very little room in their garage and does a great job mowing their yard. Battery lasts plenty long to do the whole yard ( normal yard size) and it mows really nice. I did not use the bagger so no report on that - we let the cuttings fall around here.

This mower has really surprised us. I'm going to start by saying the reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is due to the amount of plastic being a bit excessive. It has a cheap feel to it, and it makes me question its long term durability. Had I paid for this, I might be a little disappointed in that aspect.

Having said that, this thing is a beast! It's 16" wide, super light and maneuverable, easy to fold, comes with a bagger, charger and battery, and it mulches fairly tall grass and leaves with ease. We use this in a smaller fenced in back yard where our larger riding mower just doesn't make sense to use. It will be very handy when the leaves begin falling at a very fast rate. Will be nice to grab this and quickly chop up everything each day, as they pile up quickly! Not sure about blade availability, but that could also be a concern. Battery life is very good. We are certainly impressed by it's performance, especially given the initial thoughts while unboxing.
