DOVAMAN 20V Max Brushless Drywall Cut-Out Tool

This is a pretty quality tool that you feel the minute you pick it up. 

It feels good in your hand and the dust shroud really helps keep the dust from going everywhere. Hook a vacuum up to it and you're golden. 

I like that the hex tool is attached so you don't lose it. There's 2 sizes so you can use Dremel bits or regular router bits. Very versatile which is great for the home owners personal renovations. 

Good tool that will help you with multiple things during your renovations. 

I ordered this cutout tool because I see it will be quite useful in the woodworking I occasionally do (and maybe even more now). Some of the projects I could just use a router, but for many of the others that was just too bulky for the job. This little rechargeable battery cutout tool is going to solve that problem - and very well it seems.

Setup and operation is as simple as a drill or router - select the bit, clamp it in the chuck with the key (and they’ve ingeniously designed the key as the frame for the vac-shroud so it’s less likely to get lost). After that, power up and get going on that project. The tool has a solid feel and weight to it, but not overly heavy. The battery clips in and slides out easily in both the tool and the included charger. On the battery base is a power meter. Mine came fully charged according to the meter so I was able to test it out right away. For its speed, it’s fairly quiet, but that’s subject to vary with the material being cut. The vacuum shroud attachment is well constructed, but did surprise me that it’s much smaller than a 1.25” hose fitting. Also included is a heavy duty nylon storage and carry bag - plenty of room in there for extra batteries and bits.

Overall this cutout tool is versatile and functions easily in hand. It seems rugged and well made (and in the case of the chuck key, well thought out, too). I’ll update with service performance and battery life details as we get into a few projects. Recommended with five stars!

I am very impressed with this cut out tool. It is effective at cutting holes in wood, drywall, etc., so you can work in the middle of the material and come out with a clean hole without cuts in areas that don’t need to be cut. This is a real time saver, and it makes for a cleaner job. This cut out tool is well built, and it has nice features. It is easy to mount the cutting bits and I really like the LED light. It does a good job of illuminating the work area. This really helps for a more accurate cut. The power is good, but I do wish they had used a cordless tool battery that is compatible with a name brand battery. I like having extra batteries and often it is difficult to locate non-name brand batteries, especially down the road when the original battery starts to fail. Overall, I like this cut out tool and I look forward to working with it for years to come.

Until recently, I had never heard of the Dovaman brand and now we are the proud owners of three of their tools. Along with an electric mower and impact driver, this cut out tool is also of exceptional quality. In my video it is being used to cut a 1/4” piece of lauan and performs quick and clean. In comparison to the only other cut out tool I own, this Dovaman is upscale - my older one is a very inexpensive corded version you can see in the photos. Very pleased to add this to my tools and to have another 20V Dovaman battery to also use with the impact driver.

I've got a few of the Dovaman tools now and I've been really impressed to be honest.

I grabbed this strictly as a cutout tool and it really excels at that. It comes with the unit, battery, charger, blade, and bag. Everything you need to have an effective tool without worry.

The tool feels great in the hand. Very ergonomic and feels solid. Gave it a bit of a test run an worked well. It wasn't too loud, it cut easily, and the LED lights were a welcome surprise.

Works great cutting board insulation. So far, that is my only project with this tool. But I was so pleased with this project, I am cautiously optimistic about future uses. Biggest satisfaction was no mess and cut insulation like a hot knife thru butter. Really satisfying and almost no clean-up. It gets my thumbs up!

This tool has been a fantastic additon to my tool box. This thing works awesome! Considering its weight, size, and portability, it is really powerful! It feels durable and solid in my hand. The machine is a bit louder than I expected, but that just shows off the power. It is a simple process to change the bits in and out, and the dust collection option is handy as well. Though I was not familiar with the brand, it has exceeded my expectations, so I believe there is value here.

This is my third Dovaman power tool and this one is a winner for those of us who lay down drywall casually. I have no idea how it would hold up for a professional, but for an occasional use tool this hits the twin goals of affordability and utility. It is a nicely made tool with a solid plastic housing that is reinforced in the right spots. The angle is great and you even have a dust port on the front end. The power is more than sufficient for drywall use. Bit changes aren't exactly effortless but you probably won't be swapping them out often.

If you can follow a template, you can do amazing things with this tool.
The key o becoming adept with this tool is to practice on scrap lumber a lot until you get used to how it performs to learn its strengths and weaknesses. This tool is ideal for those places where a router isn't feasible. It's small enough to access tight places but mighty enough to get the job done no matter the media.
It's well built and sturdy enough to withstand long work sessions without heating up. This is a great value for the money when compared to other tools offered by other mfrs.
Novice or advanced wood worker will find value and use for this tool.

This is a well made rotary cutout tool that can be used for drywall, wood and other soft materials to cut out any type of shape or to trim small areas. It is pretty powerful and the battery lasts a long time. It is easy to handle and the more I use it the more uses I come up with.

This is a great tool to cutout holes and other precise cutting needs when regular saws are just too big and bulky. We are currently in the process of building a cottage and this will come in handy for our finishing work for electrical and plumbing cutouts, etc. The value of this is a great deal and for my DIY use I think the durability is going to be great. It's easy to use and comes with the necessary speed to get the job done well.

I picked up this Dovaman 20V cutout tool for drywall and woodworking tasks where a full-size router is just too bulky and/or physically awkward. Setup is simple: select your bit, clamp it with the integrated chuck key (which doubles as the vac shroud frame), and you’re ready to go. The tool feels solid in the hand but isn’t heavy, and the quick-change battery with power meter is a convenient feature.

In use, it cuts drywall cleanly and with precision. The depth adjustment is straightforward, allowing me to avoid damage to wiring or pipes behind the wall. The included dust shroud works well—though the vacuum port is smaller than typical hoses. Swapping bits is easy, and the onboard LED light helps illuminate dark cutting areas.

The tool runs at high speed and is reasonably quiet for its type. Battery run time is sufficient for typical projects, and recharging was quick. I like that it comes with a carrying bag, charger, and space for spare batteries and bits.

I'm annoyed that battery is proprietary- it's not like I don't have a collection of proprietary batteries (and chargers) already. Plus I expect this will complicate a replacement situation in the future.

This is the 20V Max Brushless Drywall Cut-Out Tool. This is a durable tool and it’s powerful- it has a nice kick to it. It is difficult to maneuver because it’s heavy and it’s also loud. Overall, it works, but since it’s so loud- I may not use it often.

The good and bad.. It only comes with one 2ah battery.. They do sell 4ah ones, but I do not trust it.. I tried to get one, and lost 2 different times.. End result, refund.. So I wish that they would put one up on here not sent via 3rd party ways..

I like that it has duel chucks so you can use regular router bits, or thinner dremel type bits in it, which makes it versatile..

The wrench to loosen and tighten the chuck is attached to the clear plastic guard.. I found it awkward to use being attached to it.. Not only that, but since is it held into place with just a single screw, it makes me wonder if over time, that could break the guard..

Noise level is about average, not too loud, but definitely not quiet either..

It does have a decent amount of power, so no complaints there..

Overall, a decent tool, with the downfall of limited replaceable batteries, and it only coming with one battery too.. In quality, yes, I would recommend it.. But take those other things that I mentioned into account.

Easy to use and easy to carry and work great, easy to charge and battery last long time, great tool and great quality materials, reasonable price.
