Quite powerful for an electric scarifier! I was not expecting this much oomph. You can quickly dethatch or scarify smaller yards. I would test in a less visible section of the yard to get the hang of it, as you can quickly eat through not just the dead under layer but chew up some of the live grass. I was able to take up several barrels of dead grass in preparation for a round of fertilizer and overseed.
The only draw back is this thing is loud! But throw on your favorite pair of noise cancelling earbuds and get to work!

This little guy sports a pretty decent amount of power, and can easily be switched between modes. For my purposes, I wish it were a little bit wider, but it works really well and it’s pretty easy to use. It’s not, like, top-end quality, but it’s decent. And for a machine that – in my household, anyway – is likely not going to get used that often, I think it will be plenty durable for my purposes. It does fold down a little bit for storage, but it still takes up a bit of a footprint for something that may not get used all that often. But overall, this machine does something that no other of my machines does, so I’m glad to have taken it in the arsenal. lol

While this is kinda giant to store in between seasons, this is a must if you have recurrent muddy areas. We have one muddy spot that grows grass when we try, but easily dies in the shade later in the year. It is very annoying. But, this soil dethatcher is such a help when getting the new seed into the ground! my only issue is that it is kinda loud...so if you live in a quiet neighborhood it is about as loud as a regular lawn mower, so it needs to be used in a timely manner.
