Arrived as described.

Packaged very well. Used this detail sander to refinish my backporch steps. Worked terrific with the enclosed sanding pad had a total of 10 steps to refinish. Minimal dust and the enclosed attachment to catch the sanding dust worked great! Would recommend this detail sander for small projects.

Nice Sander!

The sander arrived packaged nicely with everything in perfect condition. I couldn't wait to try it out so I immediately plugged it in and started sanding my bench. I have 2 other sanders because I paint and do a lot of DIY projects and one of my sanders is battery operated and I get so tired of it dying in the middle of my job and having to stop and change it. The other plugs in but has like a 1 foot cord so I always have to search for an extension cord. Those are the main reasons I ordered this sander and I wasn't disappointed. It sanded by bench perfectly, the sound was much less noisy than my other ones, it fit in my hand better and the vibration wasn't quite as crazy which usually causes pain in my arm after working on a project. The cord is really long and I didn't need an extension cord. Just plugged it in and began sanding. I have preferred this sander over my name brand ones lately and plan to keep using it.

This sander is very affordable yet very high-quality.

This little sander is very heavy-duty and works great. It comes with sanding pads so it's ready to go. The motor seems very strong yet it's not too loud. It has a great price probably because it's corded.

Useful but can be touchy

I have wanted a small second sander. I like the shape of the sander with the little pointy nose. It comes with two grits of sandpaper I think 80 and 120. The unit runs well and the dust collection also is good although emptying the canister requires you to shake it out through the entrance hole. There is no way I could find to open the canister and empty its contents. The directions are pretty useless on this point. The sander gets the job done but you need to focus on keeping it flat as it can get away from you and gouge your project. It also vibrates your hand pretty good. I really noticed it when I went back to my Makita orbital sander.

Looks great and works great

This sander is very well made—substantial. The dust collector comes off and is emptied by tapping on the entry hole to get rid of the sawdust. Also comes with a standard adapter for small dust collector hose.

Really like the Velcro strap on the power cable and the additional length as well.

Six sheets of 80 and 180 grit sandpaper was included. You will likely need more grades for your project and these are available on Amazon by searching for “Mouse Sanding Pads” — be sure to get the kind with six holes (as there is a five hole version also available which is not compatible).

First photo shows the content of the box. Second photo shows a painted corner object after sanding a bit with this sander—works as advertised.

Works great. Shape is good for corner sanding

I own several sanders, but they are all round, which makes it hard getting into corners. I do a lot of sanding on signs my wife buys at thrift stores to repurpose them. Many of these are inset like the one in the picture. I always end up having to hand sand the corners. I used this sander on several and was able to get into 1/16" of the edges and corners, which saved allot of work and time. I used the supplied paper in 2 different grits, and it worked fine. The only time I had an issue was when I held up one of the projects and was sanding vertically so I could see what I was doing better and the paper vibrated off. The sanders vibration is not bad and no worse than several name brands I have. It's definitely great for crafting or DIY projects around the house, especially anything with corners or tight spaces.

Handy dandy low vibration with an average amount of noise.

The huge advantage to detail sanders of this type is that they not only cover the large flat surfaces, they also get into corners. the on-off switch is housed in a transparent rubbery plastic so as to prevent any dust build up in the switch while giving you easy access. It does not have variable speed though. It comes with a dust collection attachment that will store the dust up, and it also has an adapter if you want to hook it up to a small shop vac. It's lightweight, comfortable, and does a nice job.

Compared With a B&D Mouse This Has Strengths and Weaknesses

Why would you buy this unknown brand when you can get a similarly priced item from a trusted brand like Black and Decker? I've had a B&D Mouse for a few years and it's done good service and I like it. A quick comparison of the specifications show that the Mouse has a higher RPM and I believe slightly more Amperage rating. That seems to help the Mouse to work faster. The Mouse also has grip areas for both hands, while the Dovaman really only has a one-handed grip area. Surprisingly I find the one-handed grip to be comfortable.
Another thing to note about the Doverman is that it seems to have a longer electric cable although I loaned my Mouse to someone and can't confirm that.
The big plus for me is the ability to connect tghe Dovaman to a vacuum hose. Those other little attachments on both the B&D Mouse and the Dovanan are not worth much in my opinion. In fact the plastic case and the little cloth bag inside on the Doverman are waste of time. It just makes me annoyed thinking that someone would have time to fiddle with all of that.
So for me, this is not a bad little sander and if you want something to attach to a hose then this works very well at removing the dust.
One more annoyance in general, is that manufacturers seem hell-bent on putting their air holes in different places. I have a stack of generic disks and fortunately I can position them on the Dovaman so at least part of the holes will allow air to pass through to the vent system. Black and Decker is actually much worse. I don't know which company the generic sandpaper sheets manufacturers used as their model, but holes don't line up at all with those sheets. I like my Mouse better in terms of sanding something quickly but this one is good because of the vacuum hose connection.

Good little sander

This is a good little sander that does the job very well.
It drops a star because the dust collector isn't a very good fit and as a result can fall off during use so I would recommend adding some paper or similar to make it a tighter fit.
The sander itself is comfortable to hold and with the supplied pads works well.
I used it on a pair of large gates to do the main frame and it took it down to a nice surface very quickly.
Good sander with just the dust attachments that let it down a little.

A high quality sander.

Arrived as described, as pictured, safe and sound. This sander appears to work quite well, though I’ve not properly used it as of yet, saving it for doing our staircase in the coming months but its very well made for an off brand power tool. Build quality wise is pretty decent, it does not feel cheap at all being constructed from a high density glass reinforced plastic, its quite a heavy tool and feels no different to a branded example. In the box you 12 Velcro sanding pads and a couple of dust extraction/collection tools. One thing to note though, on the unit I received neither tool would attach properly, they refused to twist/lock into place. I found that removing the plastic/rubber washer from each attachment solved this problem allowing both tools to fit properly – either the washer is slightly too big or there is a problem with the moulding on either the sander or the attachments. Not exactly a big deal. Other than that I was quite impressed with the quality of this, especially at this price point. Highly recommended.

Handy sander

Nice size for small projects. Sander runs at a high RPM so it seems like it's loud but it's cutting right the wood with ease. Works very well and I had no problem sanding wood to a soft smooth finish. It also comes with an attachment to catch the sanding dust which is very nice. The cord is very long so you have plenty of area you can work with and not need an extension cord. It's well made and perfect for the dressers and night stands I'm redoing. Easy to use with easy to follow instructions. Definitely worth having if you are a wood worker restoring old furniture.
