Very impressed - exactly as described

Purchased this as my first 12in saw as my arrangement of 7 1/4 circular saw, jigsaw, reciprocating saw, and hacksaw just werent cutting it anymore (hah).

I was very skeptical purchasing a saw with these features for $200 as similar saws often sell at the $600+ range. While ive never owned one of the "premium" options this functions exactly as expected. I was not able to lock past 30 degrees out of the box, however it may just need a slight adjustment. Verifying square and saw depth it was great out the box. Blade change is your standard arbor so no unexpected difficulties changing out the blade. Im currently working on OSB sheathing and decking so I changed out the stock blade for a fine cut. Its very easy to flip much larger boards and maintain an accurate cut with the laser. Obviously working on sheathing this isnt going to get all the way through but its certainly faster than realigning and clamping circular saw guides all the way across. That isnt a fault of this saw in particular, just a limitation of all miter saws.

My only concern is that basically all of the knobs, adjustments, etc are plastic. However at this price point I will gladly replace them with metal should they break.

Awaiting Seller reply

Shipped quickly and in very good condition. Parts defective and awaiting response from seller/mfgr. Moveable part of fence machined off angle pushing forward from solid fence at an angle causing out of square cut on material. I contacted Dovaman, and they told me the fence extension can be removed to fix the problem. That defeats the whole purpose of the part. I will machine new extensions, and probably not buy another dovaman product. I had hoped for a better solution, but since this is manufactured overseas, this is typical. I will be testing the saw and fixing issues today. Seller communicating, but 1/2 a day time difference. May have to remove entire fence and ship to them so they can see the defect in manufacturing. Still working on resolution. An entire fence with extensions was shipped from the seller, and I will attempt to replace it tomorrow.

Good product, amazing customer service

This saw checked all the boxes I wanted 12” blade, I wanted sliding compound movement, I wanted tilt on both sides, and I wanted a reasonable price. I asked for it for my birthday and my wife got it for me. There was one problem out of the box the fence had a crack in it (which can happen easily on aluminum molded parts) and my wife bought it for me more than the return/exchange window by the time it was my birthday. So I sent an email to Dovaman customer service and I will be honest I thought that there is no way I am getting a reply and I would have to makeshift a fence, I was wrong their customer service rep Katia replied same day, and each day after until the replacement fence arrived, Katia was fantastic. I have also included a picture of the last project(chicken coop) I was working on and using the miter saw. I normally only write reviews when a product or customer service is awful, it’s nice to write one for the opposite reason.

Solid for Now

Pros

-Works right out of the box. Comes with blade attached and nothing needs to be installed.
-It’s extremely heavy, but there’s a solid handle for transporting. It’s awkward to carry due to shape, but that’s not really something it can help. A miter saw is a miter saw.
-The cord is a practical length. Not too long, not too short.
-Straightforward operation. Even though I’ve only used about 2 other makes of miter saw in my life, this one worked very similar to them and stayed the course. I didn’t have to even pick up the manual to figure out how to release the blade, adjust the slide, or trigger the saw.
-The included blade sliced through 4x4 posts like butter for me. My dad and I also put 45s on a few spindles to finish off my back-porch banisters. It made short work of everything. Makes nice, clean cuts with no abnormalities in operation. No jumping, skipping, or lagging.

Cons

-I have a 12 inch sliding Dewalt and while I wouldn’t say this saw is embarrassingly lacking in comparison to it, you can still feel that difference in quality. This saw has a lot of plastic parts that don’t just cream longevity to me, not to mention it’s a no-name brand. Meaning, if anything broke off of it, I’d have a devil of a time trying to fix or replace it. My father has an old 7 inch Makita that can still cut like there’s no tomorrow. It just has that “something” you know. I’m not an expert level tool snob, but I can still pretty much size up the life span on them just by looking at and using them.

Dishonorable Mention (haha)

-As another said, the dust collection bag is pretty pitiful. I’m mentioning this, but reluctant to count it as a con. Mainly because I’ve yet to witness any power tools with a good built in dust collection system. That’s usually something you just kind of have to take care of on your own. Invest in a good shop vac, especially if you’ll be working in a halfway decent shop where you don’t want to be throwing a bunch of sawdust. I mainly use mine outdoors in the open for home improvement projects, so it doesn’t really bother me, to be honest.

Overall Outlook

I bought a 12 inch Dewalt miter saw back in ’21 for $400 bucks and that same saw is close to $500 now (thanks inflation!). This saw at time of review will set you back about $250 bucks with the use of a coupon. I’d say for a 12 inch sliding miter saw, that’s a pretty good buy. Any more than that and well, you should just save your money for a trustworthy name brand or look for a better deal. If you’re a weekend warrior or a contractor looking for a cheaper saw to commute with and keep your more expensive tools at home, this is a good option. Because it works as it should and there’s no real reason to count off for anything, I give it a solid 5 stars at the moment. Should it fail in any way in the future, I will be sure to let you know.

Great Ability but ??

This DOVAMAN miter saw is nice and big has a good cutting radius and allows you to cut in just about every angle and degree needed. Dual beveled you can cut at 45 degrees vertical or horizontal. The slide is smooth, and the rotation is easy. The laser light is bright enough to see and is very helpful. Fences move around to accommodate any cut needed. Has a bag in rear to catch sawdust. Saw locks into position and stays there till you unlock it and change it. Motor is plenty strong for a variety of materials. The left and right plates extend out in both directions for added space. This saw has many extras. Great for getting the job done clean quick and accurately. Has only one safety feature which is standard button pushed when pulling saw trigger.
The issues I found where that the casing was chipped in some areas and edges were ruff in other areas. The dust bag didn't really pick anything up sawdust ended up all over the place. The worst part was that the bag kept getting stuck on back wingnut every time you pulled slide forward to make wider cuts. When you then tried pushing saw back to complete cuts, you'd find yourself having to stop mid cut. Last I found the degrees markings for performing bevel cuts was off just ever so slightly, like they put the sticker/label on wrong. Took some adjusting and getting to know where the true 45-degree mark was.
I've managed to get a lot of work done with this very capable miter saw. The blade is easy to swap out and the rear dust bag can be removed to connect a vacuum hose which still doesn't get it all sawdust but gets rid of the bag jamming. The number of things one can tackled with this miter saws due to its capabilities is awesome and the motor can easily handle what you throw at it so long as the right blade is used. Despite the little issues I like it. I have built a work bench, worktable and added an extension wall to my garage. Currently working on a loft. (1 yr. ago) Bought a Miter Saw with 10" blade by Metabo for $265 on sale dual beveled like this just smaller. Hope this helps.
UPDATE, so the customer care team was kind enough to send me a new miter saw, and it was in a much better condition than the previous one the casting on case was not chipped or cracked and the dust bag did a better job but saw dust still gets out, but I guess you can't get away from that. The marking for beveled cuts was dead on (although I was provided with a how-to video on how to fine tune that when its off which was helpful) Dust bag on new one doesn't get stuck when making cuts. Bag still hits wingnut but does not get caught and make me stop just grazes it. last two images show new DOVAMAN miter saw. All other functions where like expected and tip top.

Nice design,Works good

It's exceptionally well-made, sturdy, and remarkably stable, with no noticeable wobbling during operation.

What sets this miter saw apart is its adjustable cutting angles, allowing for precision cuts at angles of up to 45° in both vertical and horizontal directions. With nine detents, it ensures accurate and versatile cutting for a variety of woodworking needs. The integrated guide rail system extends the left and right side plates, expanding the workspace for tackling larger projects effectively, with a maximum cutting capacity of 105 x 330mm.

One feature I particularly appreciate is the built-in adjustable laser guide, which enhances cutting precision. This is invaluable when working on intricate projects, ensuring accurate cuts every time.

It's worth noting that a sliding miter saw like this does require more space and additional safety precautions due to its larger size and the generation of noise and dust during operation. When using this miter saw, I find it necessary to wear ear protection and a dust mask to ensure safety and comfort.

Great features but a little underpowered

This saw has a ton of options for getting most wood projects done. It's a little underpowered for a saw of this size but will work for average homeowner projects. All functions of the saw work smoothly and the large numbers on the base are a welcomed feature for me. It comes ready to use right out of the box with the included blade already installed. The dust collector is the only piece that has to be put on.
This is a big saw and requires a good amount of space to operate efficiently so a large workbench or stand will be needed for safe operation. If you're familiar with a compound miter box saw the operation is easy and well laid out with safety features that don't hinder its use. If you're not, take some time to learn as the instructions don't offer much help.

Very Nice Saw - Great for the Home Shop

If you want to give a gift, or buy this and use it right away, you can. It comes complete. Even the blade is included, so you can literally just plug it in and begin cutting. As for portability, you can move it, but the good thing is, it is heavy, as it should be so it doesn't move. The metal base is level and secure. Can be bolted to a workbench too. Very smooth lift and slide action. Accurate for the cuts I have made. Powerful too. Had no problem cutting any of the wood I tested. I like too that I can attach my shop vac and suck away the dust too. At this price, you won't find a better saw.

Dovaman makes a great product and stands behind it in a way you rarely see today. I damaged the fence on my saw through no fault of the tool. The saw was not within warranty, but the service team (Kevin) went above and beyond to make sure that I was able to get what I needed. AND this is a great saw. I've used it a ton for general carpentry around the farm property and for several carpentry projects while our new home was under construction. I'm a fan and would certainly buy from this company again.

I'm very satisfied with the miter saw. So far It works very well.

The only problem that I experienced with it was that I received it with a bent stopper pin that secures the blade in the lower position. In order to use the miter saw, you first have to release the stopper pin which, because it was bent, required that I use a punch (and hammer) to release it to raise the blade for use.

Grest saw for the price

This a great miter saw for the price. I only have one issue the blade that came with lost the first time i used it, snd i was cutting 2x4s. Not the grestest quality...but i bought extra blades so no big deal. If it csme with a better quality blade i would give it 5 stars.

Christmas gift..

My son loved his new saw…it was supposed to be a Christmas gift. But he needed to make sure it worked…has been using it ever since.
Will not get wrapped or under the tree.
Thank you for a great product.
